FEN FLOOD

ACCESS BY PUNT

The church at which Gillian Harker of The Rain Consultancy was married to her Pakistani husband. Nshila was asked to ensure a fine day for the wedding. She managed this by calling for heavy rain the previous three days. (Reverse magic). Bride, bridegroom and all guests travelled by punt and the vicar arrived in his Mirror dinghy. This was a valuable challenge to her skills, bringing her up-to-date with best practice in witchcraft and preparing her to deal with the terrorist mastermind Prince Thaqib, the evil target in the last of three stories.

There was a society wedding in the London parish where Abigail was a curate. Prince Thaqib was a guest. Fred (Nshila's apprentice) was a temporary waiter. Fred tried to kill the prince by invoking the principle of Sympathetic Magic that things once part of a whole will retain  connection even when separated. Serving one slice of this pie to the Prince and then poisoning another  was meant to turn the consumed segment poisonous inside him. THE REVEREND ALICE ABIGAIL  FORDCOMBE

Alice and Fred became friends at Hedgewood Theological College. Both were present at the meet of the Snargate Vale Hunt where Nshila planned a fatal accident for Prince Thaqib. In the picture she is riding Fancy Nancy before the hunt moved off. She rode superbly all day and so impressed Sir Barnaby Scott (Master of the Hunt) that he chose her to succeed the Vicar of his local church. Prince Thaqib was thrown from his horse and died. Contract completed.
